Carl Yastrzemski Carl Michael Yastrzemski (born August 22, 1939), nicknamed "Yaz," is a former American Major League Baseball player and member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Yastrzemski played his entire 23-year career with the Boston Red Sox, primarily as a left fielder, with part of his later career played at first base and as a designated hitter. Yaz is an 18-time all-star, the possessor of seven Gold Gloves, a member of the 3000 hit club, and the first American League player in that club to also accumulate over 400 home runs. He is second on the all-time list for games played, and third for total at-bats. He is the Red Sox' all-time leader in career RBIs, runs, hits, singles, doubles, total bases, and games played, and is second on the team's list for home runs behind another Red Sox great, Ted Williams, his predecessor in left field. In 1967, Yastrzemski achieved a peak in his career, leading the Red Sox to the American League pennant for the first time in over two decades, in that season being voted the American League MVP, and being the last winner of the triple crown in the major leagues. After adding a new Adult Gadget page to www.bestgadget.co.uk and putting great links to the best sex toy sites on the market, the website has had a good response with new people dropping by looking for adult stuff. This proves what I said earlier that the sex industry could well be recession proof as no matter how hard up we all are, we can't resist a peak at sex on the internet and then it's only a matter of time before we spend a little because we need more than a peak. So with that said, I would love some feedback on what people actually want. I am working on an idea and also designing a new website that will be just about sex and adult themes. A lot of people have the need to read about sex and one interest in particular is bondage. I intend to write bondage stories and put them on the new site I am creating along with links to other sex sites and also, hopefully to bondage sites. I need people to tell me what they think. Would you visit a site to read about bondage? If it shows promise and more than a few people traffic the site, I will invite readers to submit photos of bondage and I will add a bondage photo page (or pages) even galleries. But this would only be possible if readers submit original photos not pinched from other sites. So pics of themselves, their girlfriends and wives all tied up. I need to know what people think. I love legs and bondage, and so I'd love to see the two combined - legs in bondage. Legs tightly tied together, bound with rope, tape or straps. I'd like to build up a leg bondage bank. Gather photos submitted by readers of their own or others legs tied together to be displayed in a gallery. Also, rather than a members only site, I find it very annoying finding something good on a website only to be brick-walled by memberships and join up to continue. I think a donation button on the site would be better for readers to give something if they want. I know a lot won't but many might well contribute a small amount to help the site to continue. Again what do people think? Also tell me about your bondage desires.

I read an article the other day about how companies and businesses were coping during the recession to adapt and to find pathways through these difficult times. It mentioned an industry that was claimed to be recession proof. The adult and sex industry on the internet will go on forever as people will always crave their vices and will always be tempted by the sex carrot if you dangle it strategically. Therefore, I have added an Adult Gadget section to www.bestgadget.co.uk where the best sex toys and kinky gadgets can be found via links to the top sites. So buy your sex toys and even bondage gear via www.bestgadget.co.uk

Best Gadgets - New on www.bestgadget.co.uk The Wave Street Surfing Board Product Features
Manufacturer's Description Everyone's talking about the Wave street surfer inline action board, which blends the sensations of surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding in a single fun design. The Wave--which runs on two wheels rather than four--gives you the ability to perform precision 360s in small spaces, carve downhill, and even ride uphill, making it a blast for riders of all ages. And, of course, riders can perform all manner of skating tricks, including manuals, board leaps, ollies, acid drops, kick flips, and more. The Wave is distinguished by a spring-oriented torsion bar that controls the flexible front and rear panels, along with a pair of fully rotating 360-degree wheels with ABEC-5 bearings. Once on the board, the rider merely twists his or her hips back and forth in an S-shaped motion to propel down the street, with no foot propulsion required. Even better, it takes only a few minutes to learn how to ride the Wave. Within a few hours, most riders will become proficient. Tuesday, April 7

Will CC Sabathia rule at the Yankees? After being traded from the Cleveland Indians to the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2008 season, CC Sabathia impressed and may well have been a factor in the Brewers reaching the play-offs - along with Prince Fielder's slugging homeruns. Sabathia became a must have pitcher and so the richest baseball club, the US equivalent of Manchester United, decided that they must have him on their team. And so CC Sabathia waved goodbye to Milwaukee and headed for New York. The Yankees had got themselves a great asset and a pitcher that could help them finish above the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox. But, CC Sabathia didn't really impress at all against the Baltimore Orioles in the Yankee opener of their first game in the 2009 season, which saw them lose heavily to the Orioles. So will CC Sabathia become a Yankee Great? A Yankee Hall Of Famer whose number will be retired after a career that sees him one of the greatest pitchers? Perhaps not, but give hime a chance, he's just settling in and nerves may have played a part. Although he did have a slow start last season, I seem to remember. That's what I think anyway.

Willie Mays
Willie Howard Mays, Jr. (born May 6, 1931 in Westfield, Alabama; outside of Birmingham) is a retired American baseball player who played the majority of his career with the New York and San Francisco Giants before finishing his career with the New York Mets. Nicknamed The Say Hey Kid, Mays was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979, his first year of eligibility. Mays won two MVP awards and tied a record with twenty-four appearances in the All-Star Game. He ended his career with 660 career home runs, third at the time of his retirement, and currently fourth all-time. Many consider him to be the greatest all-around player of all-time.
Mays' first Major League manager, Leo Durocher, described his abundance of talent, saying: "He could do the five things you have to do to be a superstar: hit, hit with power, run, throw, and field. And he had that other ingredient that turns a superstar into a super superstar. He lit up the room when he came in. He was a joy to be around."
Upon his Hall of Fame induction, Mays was asked to name the best player that he had seen during his career. Mays replied, "I don't mean to be bashful, but I was."

Who is the greatest baseball player ever?
Do you think that a pitcher should get the vote as the greatest player? After all, they dictate the play, get players out, save games and can completely change a game. But often they are poor at scoring.
So should it be a slugger who is the best ever as they are the players that steal bases and hit to score.
So who is the greatest baseball player ever to play the game?

Who would have thought that Japan would win the World Baseball Classic for a second consecutive time - first tournament in 2006 and now in 2009? We consider America as the home of baseball but their Major League which consists of the American League and the National League have many players from outside the US. Many top MLB players are from Venzuela, Puerta Rico, Mexico, Canada and also Japan. But baseball is played elsewhere too like South Africa, Australia, Italy and Netherlands; these teams played in the World Baseball Classic.
South Korea were the surprise team though as they only started playing baseball in 1982 and quickly became a dominant force by winning an olympic gold in Beijing and then reaching the 2009 World Baseball Classic final, losing to Japan.
So, Japan are the greatest international baseball team!
Spring training is well and truly underway in the US, preparing for the start of the regular Major League Baseball season which starts April 6th.
The teams are:
American League
East Division
Central Division
West Division
National League
East Division
Central Division
West Division
These are positions the teams finished in after the 2008 season.

Joe DiMaggio
Joseph Paul DiMaggio, born Giuseppe Paolo DiMaggio, Jr. (November 25, 1914 – March 8, 1999), nicknamed Joltin' Joe and The Yankee Clipper, was a baseball player who played his entire Major League career (1936–1951) for the New York Yankees. He was the brother of Vince DiMaggio and Dom DiMaggio. He was born in
DiMaggio was a 3-time MVP winner and 13-time All-Star who was widely hailed for his accomplishment on both offense and, as a center fielder, on defense, as well as for the grace with which he played the game. At the time of his retirement at age 36, he had the fifth-most career home runs (361) and sixth-highest slugging percentage (.579) in history. He is also the only player in baseball history to be selected for the All-Star Game in every season he played.
A "picture-perfect" player, DiMaggio achieved a 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941) that has been called baseball's most mythic achievement. After going hitless for one game, DiMaggio hit in the next 16 consecutive games, for a total of 72 out of 73. A 1969 poll conducted to coincide with the centennial of professional baseball voted him the sport's greatest living player.
In January 1938, DiMaggio met actress Dorothy Arnold on the set of Manhattan Merry Go-Round. They married at
According to her autobiography, Marilyn Monroe did not want to meet DiMaggio, fearing he was a stereotypical jock. Both were at different points in their lives: the just-retired Joe wanted to settle down; Marilyn's career was taking off. Their dlopement at
The relationship was loving yet complex, marred by his jealousy and her ambition. DiMaggio biographer Richard Ben Cramer asserts it was also violent. One incident allegedly happened after the skirt-blowing scene in The Seven Year Itch was filmed on September 14, 1954 in front of
An August 1, 1956 International News wire photo of DiMaggio with Lee Meriwether announced their engagement, but Cramer wrote that it was a rumor started by Walter Winchell. He was later linked to 1957 Miss America Marian McKnight, who won the crown with a Marilyn act. Marilyn biographer Donald Spoto claimed they were "very close to marrying" but she denies it. Biographers and news reports also linked him to Liz Renay, Cleo Moore, Marlene Dietrich, Gloria DeHaven, and Elizabeth Ray, but he never publicly confirmed any involvement.
DiMaggio re-entered Marilyn's life as her marriage to Arthur Miller was ending. On February 10, 1961, he secured her release from Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic. She joined him in
According to biographer Maury Allen, Joe was so alarmed at how Marilyn had returned to her self-destructive ways, falling in with people he felt detrimental to her (including Frank Sinatra and his "Rat Pack"), he quit his job with a military post-exchange supplier on August 1, 1962 to ask her to remarry him. But before he could, she was found dead on August 5. Her death was deemed a probable suicide but is subject to endless conspiracy theories. Devastated, he claimed her body and arranged her funeral, barring

The Los Angeles Dodgers player their baseball at Dodger Stadium in the National League's Western Division. Although the actual team was established in 1883, they became the Dodgers based in LA in 1958.
The LA Dodgers have a great record in the World Series, winning the title 6 times - 1955, 1959, 1963, 1965, 1981 and 1988. They regulalry win their division, The Dodgers are current Western NL Champions.
The Dodgers are one of America's most famous teams and in 1947, they were the first ever MLB team to have a black player - Hall Of Famer Jackie Robinson. Other famous Dodgers include Sandy Koufax, Rickey Henderson and Roy Campenella. Their current rosta is strong with players like Rafael Furcal and the fiery Manny Ramirez, probably the most famous baseball slugger in todays game. The ex-Red Sox ace transformed The Dodgers season in 2008 when he joined halfway through and took them to the top of their division. After a turbulent off-season with heated contracts being thrown about, Manny Ramirez will start the 2009 season as a Dodger.
With Manny Ramirez in their team, I think The Dodgers can go all the way to the World Series this season but can one man make a team? Perhaps Manny can.
That's what I think anyway.

Baseball Player Profile
Babe Ruth
George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948), also popularly known as "Babe", "The Bambino", and "The Sultan of Swat", was an American Major League baseball player from 1914 to 1935. Named the greatest baseball player in history in various surveys and rankings, his home run hitting prowess and charismatic personality made him a larger than life figure in the "Roaring Twenties". He was the first player to hit 60 home runs in one season (1927), a record which stood for 34 years until broken by Roger Maris in 1961. Ruth's lifetime total of 714 home runs at his retirement in 1935 was a record for 39 years, until broken by Hank Aaron in 1974. Unlike many power hitters, Ruth also hit for average: his .342 lifetime batting is tenth highest in baseball history, and in one season (1923) he hit .393, just missing the vaunted .400 mark. His .690 career slugging percentage, and 1.164 career OPS, remain the major league records.
No hitter has dominated his league the way that Ruth did. He led the league in home runs during a season twelve times, slugging percentage thirteen times, OPS thirteen times, runs scored eight times, and RBIs six times. Each of those totals constitutes a modern record.
In 1936, Ruth became one of the first five players elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1969, he was named baseball's Greatest Player Ever in a ballot commemorating the 100th anniversary of professional baseball. In 1998, The Sporting News ranked Ruth Number 1 on the list of "Baseball's 100 Greatest Players." In 1999, baseball fans named Ruth to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team. According to ESPN, he was the first true American sports celebrity superstar whose fame transcended baseball. In a 1999 ESPN poll, he was ranked as the third greatest US athlete of the century, behind Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali.
Although he spent most of his career as an outfielder with the New York Yankees, Ruth began his career as a successful starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. While Babe Ruth will always be remembered as one of the greatest hitters of all time, he was also an adept pitcher. In his first World Series game for the Red Sox in 1916, Babe set a record that still stands today, pitching 13 scoreless innings, thus producing the longest complete game in World Series history at 14 innings. He compiled an 89-46 win-loss record during his time with the Red Sox, pitching 29 2/3 scoreless World Series innings (a record which stood for 43 years). In 1918, Ruth started to play in the outfield and at first base so he could help the team on a day-to-day basis as a hitter. In 1919, appearing in 111 games as an outfielder, he hit 29 home runs to break Ned Williamson's record for a single season.
In 1920, Red Sox owner Harry Frazee sold Ruth to the New York Yankees. In his next 15 seasons in
Beyond his unprecedented statistics, Ruth completely changed baseball itself. The popularity of the game exploded in the 1920s, largely due to him. Ruth ushered in the "live-ball era" as his big swing led to gargantuan home run totals that not only excited fans, but helped baseball evolve from a low-scoring, speed-dominated game to a high-scoring power game.
Off the field he was famous for his charity, but also was noted for his often reckless lifestyle that epitomized the hedonistic 1920s. Ruth became an American icon, and even though he died nearly 60 years ago his name is still one of the most famous in all of American sports. His participation in an all-star tour of

I raised the question in an earlier post about whether A-Rod - Alex Rodriguez - Would gain a place in the Baseball Hall Of Fame after his cheating-by-drug-use scandal despite being a great player even after the substance abuse is alledged to have stopped.
Should players be inducted after such a thing as cheating?
In an interview I watched on the ESPN America channel (UK Sky channel 417) Baseball Tonight, Nolan Ryan said that he would vote FOR the induction of players who have this alledged controversy hanging around them like legends Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens.
Although the difference is that A-Rod has admitted it but Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens haven't.
Nolan Ryan is now President of the Texas Rangers. He is one of the best pitchers the game has ever seen with stats like 324 wins in 807 games pitched and a staggering 5386 innings pitched, only four other pitchers have pitched more in baseball history. Ryan started in 773 games, second only to the great Cy Young, and is top of the leader board for strikeouts with 5714, the most in baseball history.
So if Nolan Ryan is ok with it then that's good enough for me. If a player of his baseball stature isn't left feeling cheated by it all then should the rest of us?
interesting.
That's what I think anyway.

Baseball Team Feature - Chicago Cubs
The Chicago Cubs are one of the two
The Chicago Cubs won a World Series double way back in 1907 and 1908 and have now become known for not having won in 100 years! all this despite winning the Central Division titles in 2003, 2007 and 2008 and before that, the East Division titles in 1984 and 1989 and a wildcard place in 1998. For all this they have unfortunately earned the nickname The Loveable Losers.
Famous Cubs include Ron Santo, Dennis Eckersley, Ryne Sandberg, Ernie Banks, Jackie Robinson, Billy Williams and supreme slugger Sammy Sosa.
The squad now has Ryan Dempster, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Ryan Theriot and crowd favourite Kosuke Fukudome.
How long can the Cubs go without a World Series win? Instead of the “almosts” perhaps the season of 2009 will finally be theirs, but it will be very tough as there are stronger teams around like the Phillies, Dodgers, Yankees and Red Sox. But who knows?

Baseball Player Feature
Cy Young
Denton True "Cy" Young (March 29, 1867 – November 4, 1955) was an American baseball player who pitched for five different major league teams from 1890 to 1911. He established numerous professional pitching records during his 22-year career in the majors, some of which have stood for a century. Young retired with 511 career wins, the most in MLB history and 94 more wins than Walter Johnson, who is second on the list.
In honor of Young's contributions to Major League Baseball, MLB created the Cy Young Award, an annual award given to the pitcher voted the most effective in each of the two leagues. The Baseball Hall of Fame elected Young in 1939. During his professional career, Young won at least 30 games in a season five times, with ten other seasons of 20+ wins. He also pitched three no-hitters, including the first perfect game of baseball's "modern era."
In addition to wins, Young holds the MLB records for most career innings pitched (7,355), most career games started (815), and most complete games (749). He also retired with 316 losses the most in MLB history (the only other pitcher with more than 300 career losses was Pud Galvin). Young had 76 career shutouts, fourth most in history.
In 1999, 88 years after his final Major League appearance and 44 years after his death, editors at The Sporting News ranked Cy Young 14th on their list of "Baseball's 100 Greatest Players". That same year, baseball fans named Young to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team.

Gadget News - Pre-order the Nintendo DSi -
Go to www.bestgadget.co.uk and pre-order the Brand New Nintendo DSi
Available April 3 2009
Amazon.co.uk ReviewNintendo pioneered handheld entertainment in the '80s and famously made it fully mobile and accessible to millions around the world with the Game Boy and DS video game systems. Now, Nintendo is taking things to the next level by transforming the way people access, experience, create and share content with the new Nintendo DSi system, the third iteration of the world's best-selling portable video game system.

Features:
The DSi's Two Digital Cameras
The most noticeable feature of the slim Nintendo DSi system are its two cameras - one camera is situated on the external body pointing away from the user, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. As the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system, the DSi Cameras feature 10 different interactive "lenses" that can manipulate your photos, offering an easy way to take and share your photos with family and friends. The cameras also present people with unprecedented ways to interact with their games, and in the process provide developers with a new tool to devise creative games and experiences. If the touch screen gave Nintendo DS a sense of feel and the microphone allowed it to hear, the two cameras give Nintendo DSi the sense of sight.
DSi Sound
Another enhanced feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of recorded voice or music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The mic is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone output that lets users listen to music saved on an SD card, even with the screen shut.
The DSiWare
In the world of software, Nintendo DSi will be the platform for the most relevant and fun on-the-go games and applications. The Nintendo DSiWare application will populate Nintendo DSi with software that can be downloaded using Nintendo DSi Points directly to the portable system, just as WiiWare has with Nintendo's Wii console. Developers big and small are invited to create software that makes use of the properties and functions of the hardware. Nintendo DSiWare games and applications will be available at a range of values, starting at 200 points.
Games and Backwards Compatibility
In addition to downloadable games, Nintendo DSi is able to play games made specifically for the system and sold at retail. The system can also play most Nintendo DS games, and will have access to a library of more than 850 titles originally made for that system. As an example of the quality of games that DSi players can expect to see both from both Nintendo and third-party game developers, at the launch of the DSi Nintendo is also releasing Rhythm Heaven. A wildly popular rhythm game in Japan, where it has sold nearly 2 million copies since its release in mid 2008, Rhythm Heaven features catchy tunes, charming characters, and a wide variety of rhythm games as it makes maximum use of the DSi's functionality.

Often seen in the crowd, just behind the homeplate is rock supremo Geddy Lee of the prog rock mega band Rush. My all time favourite band. Long may they ROCK.
Anyway, the Blue Jays have a tough mountain to climb as they compete against the 2008 season surprise team The Rays who lost 1 to 4 in the World Series against the outstanding Philadelphia Phillies, and with the Red Sox and the Yankees, the games richest teams, they need the spirit of ’92 and ’93 and a lot of luck for the 2009 baseball season. They finished a disappointing 4th in ’08 with 86 wins and 76 losses, 11 games behind the division winners Tampa Bay Rays.
The Blue Jays might be the surprise team this season (it would be a huge surprise though).

Baseball News
As Well as providing you with the opportunity to grab the best gadgets available today on my website www.bestgadget.co.uk, I am also running a one man campaign to bring Baseball to the UK - big time.
So the burning questions in baseball at the moment? Can Alex Rodriguez salvage a damaged career after the off season "substance use" scandal? He (A-Rod) is the youngest baseball player in the game's history to hit 500 home runs. Pity that perhaps the bulk of those were during his "substance use", although he recently claimed that his best season was after he stopped taking the performance enhancing drugs, 2007 when he totalled 54 home runs for the Yankees.
If he continues to lead the batting statistics and keep clean, he'll probably overtake Barry Bonds' 756 home runs to become all-time leader and we may just forgive him for "being an idiot" for the 3 misguided years early on in his career and allow him into the Baseball Hall Of Fame.
That's what I think anyway.
Other big baseball questions as the spring training is soon to bat off after the World Classics are about Manny Ramirez. An unsettled character who is pretty much a law to himself. He was my favourite player at Boston Red Sox but then he became bigger than the dug-out and the Red Sox off loaded him so as to not unsettle the team's concentration. He went to the LA Dodgers where he turned things around for them, taking them to the semifinals in the play-offs only to lose 1- 4 to World Series winners Philadelphia Phillies.
After an off-season of "where will he end up" and on-off deals, he is back in the Dodgers' dug-out where, for the 2009 season, his slugging will surely speak for itself. So if he took the Dodgers that far in half a season, can he take them all the way for a whole one? Will the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series this year? I predict they may, only the superb Phillies will stop them.
And how many seasons can Randy Johnson go on for? This future Hall Of Famer may have something left to give to the pitching stats, but as the oldest player at 45, I bet the under-performing San Fransisco Giants are glad to have him in there team for '09.
That's what I think anway.

iRiver Clix 2 8GB MP3 Player

The Stunning iRiver Clix 2 redefines the portable media player. The Clix 2 is a further refinement of iRiver's excellent U10 player. It's the device which debuted the direct click functionality, which re-wrote the rules on how you interact with a media player. It's so intuitive that even the least technically able will pick up the player and start using it straight away. Clix 2 expands on the U10 in every direction, but most notably in it's use of AMOLED technology for the player display.
AMOLED is a new technology, which does away with the usual backlight of an LCD display. With AMOLED, the pixels themselves emit light, as opposed to LCD which has a colour mask over a backlight. What this means is incredible brightness with a huge viewing angle. The screen on the Clix 2 measures 2.2 inches and displays 320 X 240 pixels making it pin-sharp.
It also ensures comfortable usage with iriver D-Click System, which is operated by clicking the screen in four directions, and UI (User Interface) that is intuitive and easy to control. The D-Click system is exclusive to iriver.

Music - Clix provides abundant base and three-dimensional sounds through various 3D stereo effects, supporting SRS HD, the advanced 3D sound technology.
Flash Contents - Supporting Flash Lite2.1, Users can download flash games and other contents made and shared by iriver web site visitors. In particular, users can make their own contents using software.

I bought an iPod, it was 40GB and played videos as well as MP3 but the software wouldn't allow it to work on my computer. When the iPod was connected to the computer and after all the software was installed, my computer kept on telling me that there is no iPod connected!
After messing around reinstalling, unplugging, crossing fingers etc, I took it back. Sounds like a faulty iPod they said. When I got home with my new iPod, I quickly reinstalled the software (just in case) and then connected the iPod..........****! No iPod connected!! Can't be the iPod I thought. Can't be the software either as it was the new software that came with the new iPod. After phone calls and emails to PC World, Apple, Forums and anyone else I could think of, nothing could be found as to why my computer didn't like the iPod.
I took it back and purchased a Creative Zen Vision M. Everything went just how it should and in no time at all I was listening to MP3s on my new Creative Zen.
Which is better Creative Zen or iPod?
Or is there a better MP3 player?
